Overall this is (yet another) very solid work by Buckethead with a lot of diversity. If you don't have any of the Pikes releases yet, get this one first, as it's a must-have!īuckethead Hold Me Forever (In memory of my mom) Maybe it should be mentioned that this time Buckethead also plays the bass and there are more bass-centric tracks than usual. This Pike is a McLaughlin-style jazz/rock/fusion record. The solo in "Beginning Putrification" is just awesome! That song alone makes the album worthwhile ( ). The rest isn't bad either!Īnother very solid Pikes release. Some track are very reminiscent of a "Real Diamond in the Rough". Track #5 is very dark, like DeathCubeK style, but not boring at all. The perfect soundtrack for a horror trip! And track #7 is the highlight ( ). Has a very special feeling to me, almost like Mrs Beasley. The other tracks are all well done too, only some are a bit too short, IMO. Got this one as a Limited Edition back then.
